A little while ago, Hayley from Maple Holistics reached out to me and asked me to try out their Tea Tree Shampoo.
Before I start talking about the shampoo, I want to let you know a little about the company. Maple Holistics’ goal is to provide natural, premium products which are meant to enhance hygiene, health and daily living. Maple Holistics prides itself on making products that are all natural, cruelty free, paraben free, sulfate free and safe for color-treated hair.
Now, on to my review of the product.
I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. As a black woman, moisturizing is key for my hair. It’s hard to find a cleansing shampoo thay moisturizes, and it’s highly important for me to use products that will successfully add moisture to my hair because if my hair dries out, it can become brittle and damaged, and eventually break off.
Maple Holistics Tea Tree shampoo is a really great product for black natural hair. It left my hair feeling very clean, and my hair didn’t feel like it had stripped of any vital moisture. This shampoo contains argan oil, jojoba oil, rosemary oil and lavender oil…so, I’m guessing that’s what kept my hair feeling moisturized.
The only con, if there has to be one, was scent of the shampoo. Although I love tea tree shampoo for its cleansing ability, I’m not too crazy about the smell. Maple Holistics’ shampoo isn’t any different. It smelled like an ordinary tea tree shampoo, which means that the scent left something to be desired. The upside is that the tea tree scent wasn’t too overwhelming.
Overall, I must say that I am thrilled that she reached out. I really like their shampoo! I’m so glad I tried it.
