The Budget Shopaholic - Day Out at the 7th Annual Ice Cream Festival

I’m always looking for something to get into. Now that our beautiful son is two, he’s also always looking for something to get into. Like mother, like son. Except his activities are a little more destructive and less constructive…lol. Because of the that, I often look for activities that we all can enjoy. And, being that I’m the Budget Shopaholic, I like to look for activities that cost little to nothing. Atlanta is a pretty big city, so it’s not hard to find activities for my little family. But finding activities that are fun AND inexpensive can be a challenge. But when it comes to finding something on a budget, I say “challenge excepted!”

Dylan just turned two last week, so I wanted to do something extra special for his terrific 2s. And boy did we do something special! Dylan and I went to the 7th Annual Ice Cream Festival in Piedmont Park with my best friend and her adorable son. We had a blast! We sampled different ice cream flavors and other types of frozen treats. We ate tons of tasty food samples from all kinds of vendors. And, when we were finally done walking the entire festival, we headed to the park for some fun in the sun. The boys played until they got so tired they could barely stand. We all headed home exhausted and happy! It was a great day.

The cost of admission: free. The only thing that we had to pay for was our ice cream. We ended up paying about $8 for the entire day. Score for my pockets and our family budget! Not bad for a family outing.

We were good and tired by the time we got home. I can’t wait for the next outing.

Check out some pics from our fun family (because my BFF and her son are family) fun day.
